  • Training in competencies to meet actual job requirements;
  • Training Manuals - incorporating your business procedures and sample data; and
  • Skills transfer for ongoing business operation and system management.

ASG Trainers provide a number of training options to our clients, including;

Application System Walkthrough

A System Walkthrough is a high level view of the application, taking you through a number of key business processes for an overview of how the application looks and how processes are dealt with within Oracle. The application integration points are included, explaining the way data is shared and the interdependencies between applications.

Key personnel are provided with what may be their first opportunity to see the system, and sets expectations with users regarding the application look and feel, and basic functionality.

Application Super User Training

Super User training concentrates on ensuring that key users fully understand the new system in order to take a leading role during UAT and take ownership of the system after the transition to Production.

Project team members receive instruction in the standard Oracle applications configuration to gain functional knowledge of the product. This training can also be expanded to include the use of other products or tools required to successfully implement the chosen solution.

Application End User Training

This training instructs end users on completing their business processes and tasks using Oracle Applications. End Users can generally be divided into data entry and inquiry users.

Training courseware is detailed and customised to incorporate your organisation’s specific configuration and business processes. Exercises are designed to increase user confidence and self sufficiency in the new system.

This training is intended for users who regularly use the system. This is a critical part of the overall implementation as much of the success will be dependent on all the users being well prepared and understanding how the system meets business requirements.

Train the Trainer

This training course is the most comprehensive offered, and is targeted at key users to enable them to conduct end user training themselves. Other goals of this course are to enable key users to be responsible for a module once the system has gone live (maintenance, running key processes), and to take an active role in UAT, ensuring that all key business requirements are tested.

Training covers three distinct areas:

  • Core Module Setup - This covers key configuration setup steps with reference to how these have been completed for the implementation.
  • Module Maintenance - This covers elements of the system that might change, require updating, or should be maintained regularly in order to maintain system integrity.
  • Business Process - This trains the key users to use the system for entering transactions, performing inquiries and reporting.

Train the Trainer – Customised Courses

Customised Train the Trainer courses can be designed for clients targeting a specific area. This method can be applied to Oracle Upgrades where there are existing users who have been identified to deliver internal training. The program is tailored to deliver knowledge of the new functionality and practical training delivery knowledge and experience.

Technical Application and Database Training

ASG can provide additional technical training for your IT staff responsible for maintaining the Production environment and developing or maintaining custom code. This may be generic training for developers, covering development tools such as Reports 6i, PL/SQL, SQL*Plus and Discoverer, or it may cover areas such as environment administration for Database Administrators.

Training Material

ASG training material is business process-oriented and created specifically for your organisation, using solution design documents, and covers exceptions and what-if scenarios. The training material can also include the development of exercises targeted to a particular business area or process.

As an alternative, ASG can provide standard training material that you can then tailor to your business areas. We have standard training material covering the following Oracle E-Business Suite modules:
